My Headband Collection

I cant believe it’s almost the end of August! Summer has gone by so quickly even with the current circumstances. I’ll be going back to University in September to get my Master’s and I’m really excited about it! I’m usually the type to do my makeup and wear cute clothes to class, and I’ll probably still try to look cute for the online lectures. Of course, for online lectures people probably won’t see anything past my chest so that means I’ll get to spend extra time on my makeup & hair. I use to hate dealing with my hair but now that I have cute hair accessories it’s starting to be more fun. Over the last year I’ve managed to get a relatively small collection of headbands and I figured now would be a good time to show them off. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find the links to these anymore, I assume some are sold out but I’m sure you could find similar ones somewhere online!

Beige Tartan Gossip Girl Headband (etsy)

The perfect headband for a Blair Waldorf wannabe. I got this cute headband off Etsy last summer and I absolutely love it! It’s super comfy to wear and totally chic. I definitely feel like I’m in Gossip Girl when I wear it.

Black Velvet and Pearl Braided Headband (Primark)

This is a super cute headband that will make almost any outfit fancy. It’s comfortable to wear and you’re sure to get some compliments on it. Personally, I like wearing this headband with a cute dress or skirt but it could easily dress up a jeans & top outfit.

Black Velvet Headband (Primark)

This Primark headband is comfortable and casual. Since it’s black it can go with any outfit. Plus, it has a slight shimmer to it which adds a little something extra to the headband.

Red Bow Headband (Nordstrom)

This is such a cute headband and totally reminds me of something I would’ve worn as a child. The red is a bit orangey and the bow is simply adorable. I have a few outfits that I like wearing with this headband, especially in the fall with a blood orange lipstick.

Thin Gem Studded Headband (Nordstrom)

This is my favourite headband to wear to fancy events. Granted I haven’t worn it recently due to COVID, but it’s one of my favourites. The gems are sparkly but not overly and the headband itself is thin, so perfect to wear with different hair styles.

Mini Colourpop Haul – July 2020

It’s August!! Wow time has truly flown by. I think July has been my busiest month since lockdown due to the restrictions being eased in London. But don’t worry, I’m still being safe and wearing my mask! I think going back to somewhat ‘normal’ life has definitely been an adjustment. I got so used to being in my house and just chilling out & working. Now, I’ve actually got to go out and be social. For someone with anxiety sudden changes to my routine can be messy but I think I’m handling it OK.

Anyways, I was desperately needing to buy some new makeup in July and when Colourpop came out with their Tie-Dye collection I just knew i had to get my hands on some of the products. On top of that, I figured that since I would be ordering something then I might as well add on products I’d been eyeing for a while. As a serious Colourpop fangirl (like for real I own a lot of their products) I get excited every time they come out with something new. But, I have to say that I truly adore the products I’ve bought in my mini-haul. So keep on reading to get my full thoughts on the what I bought!

In A Trance palette

This dreamy eyeshadow palette is one of my current favourites. It consists of beautiful pinks, violets and blues which come in different formulas. The palette has a chunky glitter, 4 mattes and 4 metallic shades. So far I’ve loved using this palette! The shades apply themselves really well, the formulas are creamy and the colour payoff is great. I have to say it’s definitely my palette of the summer as I get to create lovely pastel eyeshadow looks which works perfectly with my summer outfits.

Truly Madly Deeply palette

I had been eyeing this palette for months before being able to purchase it. The colours and glitters caught my eye and I knew I had to get it. The palette has chunky glitters, mattes, metallics and shimmers. I love the combo of different formulas as it makes it easy to create different and fun looks. Plus, the colours are super pretty! This is a great palette and I can’t wait to keep playing around with it.

Super Shock Highlighter in Manifest That

I was definitely shocked when I opened this highlighter and saw how massive it was! I’m not complaining though, it’s a beautiful highlighter and comes with a nice big mirror. The highlighter is pale pink with silver shimmers throughout. It looks stunning on the cheeks and thankfully it’s easy to apply!

Lip Tint in Treasure Island

I’m obsessed with this lip tint crayon. Not only does it smell great, like a tropical fruit, but it’s so comfortable to wear. The colour is a lovely sheer raspberry that gives the lips just enough colour. I usually swipe this on if I’m going for a quick grocery run or errand. I do own another one of Colourpop’s lip tint’s and I really do love them. Definitely a product I recommend, especially if you’re not a huge makeup person. Since these lip crayons are pretty sheer in colour yet shiny, it can have a similar effect to a lip gloss minus the stickiness.

So that’s all! I highly recommend all of these products, and many more from Colourpop! Comment below if you have any fave products from them 🙂

My Current Beauty Favourites – March 2020

As an avid makeup lover I can only go so long without wanting to buy and try some new beauty products. I always end up buying more makeup in February as it’s my birthday month. Not gonna lie, I do use that as an excuse to treat myself. So, as per usual I ended up buying a few products that I’d had my eye on for a while. Out of those products here are some that I’ve been using non-stop for the last few weeks!

Dose of Colors – Cold Shoulder (Liquid Matte Lipstick)

I love Dose of Colours’ liquid lipsticks! They’re so comfortable to wear and their colours are always so pigmented. I already had a lovely deep purple liquid lipstick of theirs that I had gotten in a BoxyCharm but I wanted another one. I needed a pinkish mauve colour and luckily I saw that Dose of Colours had a really pretty one. So, I bought Cold Shoulder at an Ulta when I went on a trip to the States. This particular colour is perfect for me, it’s not too dark or too light so you can wear it on a night out or during the day at work (or for a Sunday brunch!). Not only do I love the colour but I love how easy it is to apply. The applicator is soft and fluffy but not too hard to maneuver. This lipstick also stays on for a really long time. You can get away with drinking on a night out and not have to reapply, not even once. So, if you’re looking for the perfect liquid lipstick you should definitely check out Dose of Colours!

Huda Beauty – The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I don’t normally buy Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes due to their price but I really like the colour selection for this one. I needed a total nude palette for a while and this one really spoke to me. I also felt drawn to the metallic shades. I’m actually quite glad I ended up buying this palette. The metallic shades are stunning and look beautiful on the lid. The matte shades are creamy and decently pigmented. It’s not the best palette I’ve ever bought but I do like it and I have been using it a lot, especially for neutral looks. So, if you want to buy one of Huda Beauty’ eyeshadow palette and you’re in need of some nudes then you should pick this palette up. But, you could probably get a palette with similar colours for less expensive at Colourpop.

Morphe Brushes

I genuinely like a lot of Morphe products, their eyeshadow palettes and setting spray are some of my favourite makeup products. I had never purchased any of their brushes before but many of the beauty YouTubers I watch like Morphe brushes. So, since I saw a Morphe store at one of the malls in London, I figured I could buy some and try them out. Plus, it just so happens that I was in need of new blush and bronzer brushes. I ended up buying 4 new brushes, M462, M451, E3 and M448.

These brushes pick up product and apply it really well. They’re super soft and don’t hurt my skin when applying product. Overall they’re really great and I’ll probably buy more of their brushes! If you’re in need for some new makeup brushes I definitely recommend checking out some of Morphe’s brushes.

Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit – Ghost

I looove Hourglass and I think their highlighters, blushers and bronzers are stunning. I got this palette for Christmas and I’ve been using it a ton! I rarely use blushes due to my rosacea but these ones are so pretty and glowy that it doesn’t feel like I’m putting a ton of red on my face. The highlighters in this palette are beautiful and creamy. They’re perfect for a natural glow on the cheeks. The one bronzer shade is really pretty when you put it on top of a matte bronzer as it adds dimension and little glow to the face. I also like using the bronzer on its own for natural makeup days to contour a bit. Overall, this is a gorgeous highlight palette and I highly recommend it.

Tati Beauty – Textured Neutrals Vol 1

I don’t usually buy YouTuber products as they can be overpriced and not have the best quality. However, when I saw Tati’s palette and all the amazing reviews it was getting, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The colours were right up my alley and I loved how each row had different finishes. I got it in the mail like 2 weeks ago and I’ve been loving it! The shadows are pigmented, creamy and they blend like a dream. I think this is a great palette for everyone because we can all use the colours Tati chose for the shadows. Even though I do own a lot of eyeshadow palettes I didn’t have one quite like this. I can’t wait to keep playing around with it!

Glossier Products

Over the last 2 years I’ve heard a lot about Glossier and I’ve contemplated buying some of their products but wanted to test them first. I got pretty lucky because they opened up a pop-up shop in Covent Garden and I was able to go to try on some of their products and buy my favourite ones! I decided to purchase three items that were originally on my list. I got the Generation G lipstick in Jam, the Balm Dot Com in Berry and the Lidstar in Lily. Each product is very minimal and has just enough colour to add some life to your face. I love using them when I’m having a chill day and just need a bit of makeup to go to the grocery store or the cinema. I’ve been using them quite a lot since purchasing the products and I totally love them!

So that’s all for now, I’m glad all I bought these products because I really have been loving them all. If you’ve been thinking about trying them out I say go for it!

Stay rosy,

My Winter Skincare Routine

Hey guys! So, it’s a little cold outside which means that my usual skincare routine is changing a bit. For those of you who don’t know, I have super dry skin. Like dryer than the Sahara desert dry. Plus, I have rosacea so my skin is also sensitive. Basically, when fall comes around my skin starts to get even drier than it is in the summertime, which means that my skincare routine has to get tweaked a little.

Over the years I’ve established a pretty decent fall/winter skincare routine that works to keep my skin hydrated. I figured I’d let you in on what products I use!

The Ordinary – Salicylic Acid 2% Solution

A friend of mine started using some of the products from The Ordinary over the summer. Her positive reviews is what got me into ordering a bunch of their skincare products. In those products was their salicylic acid (add full name). Although, I don’t have constant acne, I do get hormonal acne every month for a few days and it’s always such a struggle to deal with. Since I got this salicylic acid I’ve notice that my acne goes away much quicker than before and sometimes it goes away before even becoming a full on zit. Since it is an acid and I do have dry and sensitive skin, it’s not something I use every night but only during those few days that I can feel my acne coming up or when I wake up with it. I do also love the other products I got from The Ordinary such as their hyaluronic acid, ‘Buffet’ and the moisturizer.

First Aid Beauty – Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Like I mentioned above, I have very dry skin! And it gets awful during winter – like flakes off when I put foundation on awful. Thankfully, I found out about this hydrating serum and I find that it really helps. I usually apply it in the morning after using my toner pads but before using my moisturizer. It has a cooling sensation and my skin always feels hydrated and plumped after I use the serum. If you have dry skin like me and are looking for a serum I highly suggested you try this one out!

Tatcha – The Water Cream

Oh my god, I’m truly obsessed with this cream! This moisturizer makes my skin feel so refreshed and extra hydrated! I feel like my skin never flakes off and my makeup always looks better when I use Tatcha’s water cream. It is a bit on the pricey side but I genuinely feel like it’s worth every penny.

First Aid Beauty – Facial Radiance Pads

I got these a few months back by a Sephora employee’s recommendation and I do not regret it! I feel like my skin is smoother and just overall better when I use these toner pads. Also, I feel like they really help with clearing up my skin and getting rid of acne as well as those weird little white bumps I occasionally get. I tend to only use one toner pad every day, in the morning, to not dry out or hurt my sensitive skin.

LANEIGE – Water Sleeping Mask

This is a product that I tend to use 1-2 times a week when my skin is feeling extra dry and dull. After I wash my face and remove my makeup I’ll spread this night mask all over my skin and leave it on overnight. Once applied, the mask has a soothing cooling sensation and it almost feels like you’re putting water on your skin. When I wake up the next morning my skin is brighter and way more hydrated than it was the day before.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for these products my skin would be a total mess. Since I started using them it’s really made a big difference in how my skin looks and feels, plus how I feel about my skin. Feeling good about one’s skin isn’t always easy, especially if you have acne or discolouration or anything that makes affects the way you see yourself. I’ve definitely struggled with my skin and how I feel due to my skin so it’s really nice to be able to look in the mirror with no makeup and not feel awful about how my skin looks. Of course, these products are not the only thing that has helped my skin, a prescription cream to help with my rosacea and bettering my self-esteem has helped a lot too.

Stay rosy,

xo
